CareAcademy's Curriculum Management tool was designed to ensure that assigning out mandatory agency training requires as little administrator time as possible. With this tool, you're able to create the initial and annual curricula that will automatically be assigned to each caregiver, ensure that your curricula are in compliance with state regulations (if applicable), and view our entire CareAcademy class library.
An initial and annual bundle together is known as a "Curriculum Track." It is possible to create as many curriculum tracks as you wish. A caregiver can only be enrolled in a single curriculum track at one time. Creating different curriculum tracks is beneficial if you wish to offer different initial and annual training for a caregiver based on their role or experience.
Where is this located within my dashboard?
The Curriculum Management tool can be located on the dashboard ribbon, as seen below. Selecting the "Curriculum" tab will navigate you to the Curriculum Management screen.
What is an Initial and Annual Curriculum?
Initial Curriculum
The Initial Curriculum is the foundational set of classes that are to be assigned to a caregiver upon hire. In other words, this can be considered a caregiver's onboarding training. When adding a new caregiver to your CareAcademy dashboard, it is possible to note whether or not that caregiver needs initial training.
Annual Curriculum
The Annual Curriculum is the set of classes that you want your caregivers to take on an annual basis. With this tool, it is possible to assign the same annual curriculum each year or to establish a multi-year annual curriculum plan for your caregivers.
Within both the Initial and Annual curriculum management tools, the duration and topics covered in each class will be present. A detailed description for each class can be found by expanding the class record.
How to edit a caregiver's initial training status.
It is possible to edit the status of your caregiver's Initial training progress using the Edit function on their profile.
Step 1: Click on the down arrow to the right of the user’s name to expand their profile.
Step 2: Select the "Edit" button.
Step 3: Scroll all the way to the bottom until you reached Caregiver's Training. Then, select "No" under Needs initial training?. This will automatically reflect that a caregiver completed their Initial Training without having to take the extra classes.
