At CareAcademy, we understand and value the importance of tracking caregiver training - both when it comes to CareAcademy classes and custom in-house training developed by agencies. For this reason, the Admin Dashboard includes the functionality to document a non-CareAcademy class by creating a class placeholder.
Creating a custom class placeholder gives administrators the ability to document additional training, such as an Agency Orientation, and have the completed class appear in compliance reports. Since the custom placeholder is for a non-CareAcademy class, no certificate will be generated.
Once a class placeholder has been created, it lives in your own dashboard Class Library and is only available to be added to the caregivers on your agency dashboard. A class placeholder can also be added to an initial or annual training bundle via the Curriculum Management tool. A class placeholder can be created when at least one caregiver has been added to the admin dashboard.
Step 1: Select the caregiver(s) to whom you wish to add the class placeholder to by selecting the respective checkboxes to the left of their name(s).
Step 2: Select the "Add Training" option on the Bulk Actions toolbar.
Step 3: Select the "New Class" tab.
Step 4: Complete the mandatory fields to establish the class placeholder. This information is necessary for the training log. Select the "Continue" button upon completion.
Step 5: The fields in the next section are optional. When you are ready, press the "Enroll" button.
Your new class placeholder is now created! You will now see this class in the Class Library section on your dashboard. This class placeholder is now available to be assigned to any caregiver on your dashboard via the "Add Training" feature or the Curriculum Management tool.
Note: Any class placeholder created will be tagged with an "External Class" icon so it is easily identified in the future.
In order to mark this class placeholder as complete, a dashboard admin must waive this course in the dashboard.
