With CareAcademy's curriculum management tool, it is possible to establish an initial and annual training curriculum, also known as a "curriculum track", that will automatically be assigned to the caregivers based on their caregiver group. A caregiver group can only be associated with a single curriculum track, but multiple caregiver groups can be associated with the same curriculum track. The caregivers associated with a specific group will automatically be enrolled in the linked curriculum track. It is important to remember that a caregiver can only be associated with one caregiver group at a time.
There might be instances where you would like the foundational training offered to caregivers to differ based on role or experience. For this reason, it is possible to create as many curriculum tracks on your administrator dashboard as you wish. Developing multiple curriculum tracks can be useful if you hire different levels of caregivers. For example, you might be interested in offering a different initial and annual training curriculum for Companion Caregivers versus Personal Care Attendants. Creating a curriculum track specifically for office staff can also be beneficial if you want them to take annual training, such as HIPAA or Sexual Harassment Prevention.
When planning which tracks to create, we recommend considering how you wish the initial and annual curriculum to differ from your other curriculum tracks. If you're instead interested in assigning a one-time bundle of classes to a group of caregivers, such as a dementia refresher, we recommend utilizing our "Add Classes" feature.
Step 1: Navigate to the Curriculum tab on your dashboard.
Step 2: Press the Add Curriculum button.
Step 3: Here, you can choose to start with an empty curriculum and develop it according to your needs, or copy an existing curriculum tailored to your state's requirements.
If you choose to Start with an empty curriculum, you will be able to build your curriculum from scratch. you will need to name the curriculum. Then, press Continue.
Step 4: If you choose to start with an empty curriculum in Step 3, please skip this step and move to Step 5.
After you select copy an existing curriculum, you may click on the arrow drop-down to select your preferred curriculum from the list of existing curriculums, name the curriculum and press Continue.
After pressing Continue, the curriculum will be added to your dashboard.
Step 5: To view the curriculum track that you added, press Back to all curriculums.
There, you will see a list of all curriculum tracks on your dashboard. You can edit the initial and annual classes by clicking the name of the track or the Edit button. If you click Options (the three dots to the far right of the curriculum name), you will be able to rename or delete the track.
